On friday 21st Nov a new piece ’11th’ was premiered at Présences Electroniques in Genève at the Bâtiment des Forces Motrices venue that sits above the river in the city. The piece was performed on the Acousmonium, a 60 speaker sound system designed in the 70s  with loudspeakers of different sizes and shapes arranged with a view for an immersion in sound, it was originally used by Pierre Schaeffer’s Groupe de Recherches Musicales.

The piece was made up solely from recordings that Matthew Herbert made on September 11th 2001 whilst he was in Manhattan, New York. This is the first time that those recording have been heard.
